How to build player registration packages

Registration packages allow you to offer different registration options for your event, such as Single Golfer, Twosome, Foursome, or any custom group size.

Creating a Registration Package

1. From the left-hand menu, navigate to Player Management > Registration Options.
2. Click New Registration Option in the top-right corner.
3. Select a package type using the icons at the top of the page. The # of Players field will automatically update based on your selection (for example, selecting Foursome will set the player count to 4). You can manually adjust the player count if needed.
4. Enter a Package Name that clearly identifies the registration option, such as Single Golfer, Twosome, or Foursome.
5. Enter the Package Cost.  If you'd like to offer a free registration package, see our How to Invite Players for FREE article (PRO feature).
6. Choose whether the package should be visible on your registration website.If you enable Do not show this package on website. Will use custom link to send privately to prospective players, the package will remain hidden from the public and can only be accessed using its private registration link.This option is ideal for:
   • Sponsor registrations
   • VIP registrations
   • Staff or volunteer registrations
   • Discounted or invitation-only registrations

7. (Optional) For packages with multiple players, you can require an email address and/or phone number for every player by enabling:
   • Set email as a mandatory input for all players
   • Set phone number as a mandatory input for all players
   Note: Purchasers can still select Guest Player, which does not collect an email address or phone number. The primary registrant is always required to provide their name and email address.
8. Add a Package Description to let players know what's included. For example:Includes golf for four players, shared golf carts, breakfast, lunch, and banquet dinner.Descriptions can contain up to 2,000 characters.
9. Click Create Registration Package to save your changes.
10. Repeat these steps for each registration option you want to offer.
    
    

Offering Early Bird Pricing

The easiest way to offer Early Bird pricing is to create a separate set of discounted registration packages.

For example:

• Single Golfer – Early Bird
• Foursome – Early Bird

Keep your Early Bird packages visible while your regular-priced packages remain hidden.

When your Early Bird promotion ends, simply:

1. Log in to your Event Caddy account.
2. Edit the Early Bird packages and set them to Hidden.
3. Edit your regular-priced packages and set them to Visible.

This allows you to switch from Early Bird pricing to regular pricing without changing package prices or affecting existing registrations.

Important Notes

• Registration packages created using this tool must include one or more players.
• To sell sponsorships, mulligans, raffle tickets, merchandise, donations, or other items that don't require player registration, use the Online Store (available with the PRO upgrade). Online Store items can be sold with or without player registrations.
• By default, $0 registration packages are hidden from your public registration page. If you'd like a free registration package to appear publicly, contact our support team using the live chat icon in the bottom-right corner of Event Caddy or email support@eventcaddy.com.

Can I register volunteers without adding them as players?

Yes. We recommend using the Online Store (available with the PRO upgrade) to create a volunteer registration item. This allows volunteers to register without occupying a player spot in your tournament.
